Reclaim the lanes

Sunny Bins grew up in Newtown’s atmosphere of community and eccentric events. Reclaim the Lanes is a celebration of the colourful suburbs party culture and many Wheelie mobile sound system contraptions have been encouraged by this now annual event.
In 2011 Reclaim The Lanes, Newtown’s free party ‘situation abnormal’ was activated again. The event floated through the myriad of forgotten lane ways on an amazing late summers day. The shambolic creative flotilla of wheelie bin sound systems and creative karts roved through narrow spaces and public art zones eventually coming to roost at Camperdown park back lit by a golden sunset.
