Sunny Bins is a Sydney-based solar-powered sound system project that blends renewable energy, street culture, and community connection.
For more than a decade, we’ve brought clean, battery-free sound to festivals, environmental actions, multicultural events, and local celebrations.
Now we’re ready to take the next big step — creating a solar-powered electric trike that doubles as a mobile DJ rig and a moving billboard for active transport advocacy and renewable energy innovation.

🚴♂️ 1. Solar-Powered DJ Trike A custom-built electric cargo trike with:
• solar canopy + lithium battery system
• detachable wheelie-bin sound system
• DJ controller, mixer mount, mic stand
• all-weather event setup
• active-transport showcase vehicle
• potential for Bike Rave activations like the viral Dom Whiting ( Bristol, U.K ) “Drum & Bass On The Bike” mobile events
• zero-emissions mobile stage for festivals, school events, and environmental campaigns
Funding needed:
• $12,000 – $25,000 (depending on trike model, solar array, fabrication, sound gear & branding), once we build a working prototype we can look at making more.
