2023: The Solar Trailer Debut
Parramatta Lanes 2023 marked the debut of our new solar-panelled trailer DJ booth — the next evolution of the Sunny Sound System.
The roving bin pusher, bubble storms, and four nights of spontaneous street dance brought kids and adults together in pure sunshine-powered joy.
It was our first major Parramatta event since Parramasala (2014–17), and a true return to form — beats, smiles, and solar energy lighting up the laneways once again.

2024: Baptism by Fire
The following year began in a quiet corner behind Centenary Square’s church — before we were moved to the bridge near Riverside Theatres, where the real crowds found us.
That same night, I raced from Parramatta to Botany for my first Bayside Council meeting as a newly elected Greens councillor, where I put forward my ceasefire and divestment motion on Gaza amid protests, police, and a packed gallery.
After the meeting, I drove back to Parramatta to pack down the rig, then returned the next day to the bridge site. With our upgraded bubble machine and the sound system in full flight, three unforgettable nights followed — rain, lasers, laughter, and hundreds dancing by the river under the glow of solar power.
