Parramatta Eels Game Day Activations

In mid 2025 in the winter when things are normally quite I was getting two shows a month for 2-4 hour sessions setting the Sunny Sound System up in Centenary Square Parramatta for days when the Eels were in town. I’d set up the sound system as the Eels and sometimes opposing team fans would walk by from the station to the stadium. Stilt characters and face painting also occurred in the activations. Some of these events hadd torrential rain which lead to me having to completely waterproof the solar panel roof. The last one of these took my back to Parramatta and was for Diljit Dosanjh is an Indian singer, actor and film producer who works in Punjabi and Hindi who had a show in town.

I was getting to know Parramatta quite well setting up music regualrly in the town square and became familiar with some of its residents.

During one rainy session the wet got into my DJ-USB desk and rendered it broken, still under warranty I got it sent off to be looked at. For the rest of the season in the square I had to pull out the old guns- my vintage 1991 Technics 1200 Turntables and not quite as vintage 2007 Pioneer CDJ units. So good these pairs still work fine.
